Basie and Ellington featured in jazz concert

DANVILLE, KY—The Centre College Music Program will present a jazz concert on May 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Combs Student Activities Center on campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature the popular 12-piece Centre Jazz Band. Band members include: Keane Barger '10, Anna Capaldi '10, Andrew Curry '08, Al Griffin '09, Elliott Herndon '07, Kerri Howard '08, Nick LeFevre '09, Mary Morgan '07, Will Rall '08, Mari Rayl '09, Elisha Sircy '07, John Trevathan '07 and Wes Young '07.

"The Centre Jazz Band is an exciting group of students performing pieces from vocals with Mary Morgan to Count Basie, Duke Ellington and other jazz standards," says Vince DiMartino, W. George Matton Professor of Music. "The band will feature most of its members as soloists throughout the concert."
