The Centre Commitment guarantees individualized,
timely education

RELEASED: June 7, 2007

DANVILLE, KY—With the new academic year just around the corner, high school seniors should be aware that only Centre College makes the following promise: if students meet normal academic and social obligations he/she:

• will be able to take part in an internship,

• will get a chance to study abroad, and

• will graduate in four years.

If this promise isn't fulfilled, Centre will pay for up to another year of tuition.

This pledge, called "The Centre Commitment," reinforces Centre's goal of providing students a personal education in a four-year time frame.

"The vast majority of our students graduate in four years," says Carey Thompson, dean of admission. "They arrive in the work force or in graduate programs in a more timely manner than students at other Kentucky institutions."

Centre makes the opportunity to participate in an internship program widely accessible and more than 80 percent of the College's students study abroad. This ranks Centre among the top 10 colleges in the nation in international study.

Stay tuned this summer for features on Centre students doing summer internships.
