Application deadline fast approaching for class entering fall 2008

RELEASED: December 20, 2007

DANVILLE, KYProspective students who want to become members of the Centre College Class of 2012 should have their admission applications completed and postmarked by Feb. 1.

High school seniors can complete the two-part paper application and submit it by mail or can apply online (with no fee!). Centre also accepts the Common Application.

The window to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is from Jan. 1 to March 1. See Centre's financial aid page for more information. More than 80 percent of Centre students receive financial assistance, nearly 60 percent receive need-based financial aid and more than half receive merit-based scholarships.

Says Carey Thompson, vice president of enrollment and student planning services, "With our February 1 Regular Decision deadline approaching, we anticipate another very strong class for the fall.  As always, we look forward to coming to know our applicants and finding those for whom Centre is a great fit."

Timely applicants will receive admission decisions by mid-March, with scholarship and aid notification following in late March.

High school juniors interested in attending the College should mark March 8 and May 4 on their calendars for Centre's Junior Day Open Houses. Prospective students and their parents can tour the campus and attend informative sessions about choosing a college, beginning the application process, financing a Centre education and learning more about a day in the life of a college student.
