Convocation focuses on breaking down stereotypes
RELEASED: October 4, 2007
DANVILLE, KY—Several Centre students will share their individual coming-out stories in the convocation "We'll Be Glad To Take Your Questions." The campus organization Bisexuals, Gays, Lesbians and Allies for Dignity (B-GLAD) will host the panel discussion on Thursday, Oct. 4.
"The goal of this convo is to help students view sexual orientation diversity from individual perspectives and break down the stereotypes that exist," says co-president Joshua Stevens '09. "No two people have the same story, and it's harmful to all when a sweeping generalization is made based upon anecdotal evidence."
The panel discussion will be held Thursday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Weisiger Theatre on campus.
