U.S. News cites Danville as a great place to retire

DANVILLE, KYDanville has been featured in U.S. News and World Report's latest issue containing America's Best Places to Retire.

In a section titled "Also Worth a Look," Danville is among 10 more attractive places for readers to consider.

Says the article: "Historical Danville hosts an annual hot-air balloon race at the Great American Brass Band Festival, and its Constitution Square boasts the original post office, a replica jail, and Grayson's Tavern, built in 1785." Click here to read the entire article.

This isn't the first time Danville, "the City of Firsts," has been spotlighted by national media as a great place to live. The charming and vibrant town has been singled out by Time magazine as one of ten successful small towns in America. And in 2001, Danville received a Great American Main Street Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation—one of only five in the country and the first in Kentucky to receive the award.

Danville was also included in the book The 50 Best Small Southern Towns.
