Centre launches YouTube channel

RELEASED: December 11, 2008

DANVILLE, KYThere's now one more way to connect with Centre: through YouTube. The College is pleased to announce the arrival of its official channel titled simply "TheCentreChannel."

Here, the entire community, as well as prospective students, can keep up with video projects ranging from the College's TV commercials to its new short film series "CentreQuickly"—the first webisode of which is already uploaded with two more currently in production.

"We're always looking to explore new forms of communication," says Adam Brown '07 who currently serves as the College's Communications Fellow. "In this case, the medium is perfect for a Web 2.0 audience."

As with other channels hosted on YouTube, anyone can comment on videos, rate them, or add them to their list of favorites for quick retrieval later with a free membership to YouTube. Most importantly, notifications of new additions will be automatically sent out to anyone who subscribes to TheCentreChannel's content.

"Subscribing to the channel provides an excellent opportunity to enhance Centre's brand recognition," Brown says. "I believe that Centre alumni and others will show a keen interest in the College's content, which will move it toward the top of search list results. This means more people will inevitably be exposed to what the College has to offer."
