Centre to host admitted student day
RELEASED: April 10, 2008
Along with campus tours, visits to the college bookstore and a complimentary lunch, the day will consist of seminars for both students and parents.
Academic seminar selections for students include: "Vietnam: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow"; "Monetary Policy of the 70s and 80s—and it's Impact Today"; "The Nature of the Human Hand"; "Antibodies and Their Uses"; "The Intelligent Woman's Guide to Mate Selection/Fight the Dragon, Get the Girl"; "Saying What We Mean and Meaning What We Say"; and "I'm Right, You're Wrong, But I'm Not Sure Why: Moral Decision Making."
Later, students will have the opportunity to engage in social seminars with Centre students consisting of candid conversations about living the "Centre Experience."
"We look forward to greeting well over 100 admitted students and their families on campus," says Carey Thompson, vice president for enrollment and student planning services. "Centre of Attention Day gives these students a great opportunity to preview campus life and imagine themselves here as first-year students next fall. These students will come from the largest applicant pool in the College's history and should be another outstanding class for the College."
