The Centre Commitment guarantees individualized, timely education
RELEASED: December 25, 2008
• Will be able to take part in an internship,
• Will get a chance to study abroad, and
• Will graduate in four years
If this promise isn't fulfilled, Centre will pay for up to another year of tuition.
This pledge, called "The Centre Commitment," reinforces the College's goal of providing students a personal education in a four-year time frame.
"The vast majority of our students graduate in four years," says Carey Thompson, vice president for enrollment and student planning services. "They arrive in the work force or in graduate programs in a more timely manner than students at other Kentucky institutions."
Centre makes the opportunity to participate in an internship program widely accessible and more than 80 percent of the College's students study abroad. This ranks Centre among the top 10 colleges in the nation in international study.
During CentreTerm (the College's distinctive, three-week January term), students will be participating in internships across the country and the globe. Internships that students are participating in this CentreTerminclude:
• The World Bank in Dhaka, Bangladesh
• Louisville Zoo
• Save the Children in Yangon, Myanmar
• Notebaert Nature Museum in Chicago
• Mayan Mountain Research Farm in Toledo, Belize
