Convos focus on leadership
RELEASED: October 30, 2008
DANVILLE, KY—With the upcoming General Election on Nov. 4, the two following convos seem especially timely.
"The Leadership Imperative: A Young Person's Call to Action" will be on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 7:30 p.m. in Newlin Hall. The program will highlight three people who represent a range of leadership experience: Trey Grayson, Kentucky Secretary of State; Centre President John Roush; and Steven Priepke, executive director of Sigma Alpha Epsilon national fraternity. Speakers will discuss issues relevant to young people while giving their personal history into their own rise to leadership positions.
Haider Hamza, a twenty-four-year-old Iraqi freelance journalist, will tell the story of his country on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Vahlkamp Theatre. Hamza has covered the major events in Iraq since 2003, including the trial session of Saddam Hussein, the killing of al Qaeda leader Abu Massab al Zarqawi and daily sectarian violence. He also covered the Iraqi armed resistance fighters to learn more about their mind set, goals, and the reality of who they are.
Convocations are free and open to the public.
