Attention Centre students: calling for the coolest room on campus!

RELEASED: April 10, 2008

DANVILLE—When it comes to dorm-room décor, Centre College has some of the most stylish and creative minds around. So every year, the communications office seeks out the crème de la crème of campus pads and celebrates them in the annual Coolest Room Contest.

Beginning Thursday, April 10, Centre students are challenged to submit their room into the running for the coolest room on campus. Roommates can submit their rooms at www.centre.edu/coolestroom, where they will be prompted for their names, email addresses, building name, room number, phone number and finally, a brief description of why their room is the coolest. The deadline for submissions is Monday, April 21, at 5:30 p.m. EST.

The contest committee will select the top-five rooms on the basis of color, creativity, decorations, theme and overall look.

Pictures of the top rooms will be posted on Centre's Web site for the campus community and prospective students to view and vote on beginning Thursday, April 24. The winners will be announced on Thursday, May 8.

But what good is a winner without a prize? Furthermore, what good is a prize if you have to share it with a roommate? These are, without a doubt, very good questions, each with very exciting answers. The winners of the Coolest Room Contest each will receive the celebrated hand-held video system Nintendo DS Lite.

The Nintendo DS Lite revolutionizes handheld game play. With two ultra bright screens, 3D graphics, touch-screen technology, wireless communication and a library of games that offers something for everyone, the prizes rank among the best the communications office has ever put up for grabs. In addition, all top rooms will receive an array of Centre memorabilia.
