First round of student voting to name the new eatery begins!

RELEASED: March 13, 2008

DANVILLE, KYFrom scores of entries, the "Sensational 64" choices have emerged to compete in an epic battle of eatery-naming madness. The ultimate decision lies with Centre students, who begin first-round voting on Thursday, March 13 with the polls closing Wednesday, March 19 at midnight. Students will receive an email with a customized link to the official ballot and will be prompted to select up to 16 names they'd like to see advance to the second round.

The second round of voting to determine the Final Four will begin Thursday, March 20 and end one week later. The final round of voting to choose the champion will follow the same process beginning on Thursday, March 27.

The name for the new eatery will be announced at the Campus Center Groundbreaking Ceremony to be held on the Cowan Dining Commons lawn on Friday, April 11, from 12:45 to 1:15 p.m. The winner of the contest will be awarded a one-year subscription to unlimited Netflix DVD rental service with two DVDs at a time (along with seeing his or her entry emblazoned on the side of the new eatery in neon lights…or something similar but equally cool).

And while the new name of the eatery will only be in effect until the College's new campus center is opened, a permanent plaque will be installed in the building for future generations to see. Second, third and fourth place will receive smaller Netflix subscriptions and all Sweet 16 entrants will receive various Centre memorabilia.
