The new eatery's name is nigh: the Final Four face off RELEASED: March 27, 2008
The "Final Four," in alphabetical order, are as follows: Chowan, Colonel Commons, Epicentre and The Tracks. And now for a look at a few of the names that, despite the noblest of efforts, could not rise to the top: Coming in at No. 8, "C6 cH0w" never made it to the end zone. The train simply bypassed the "The Depot" at No. 7, while the alliteration of "Colonel Corner" proved too much for many tastes at No. 6. And again, another entry failing to advance to the next round by only two votes, "The Box," received a K.O. to come in at No. 5. The winner of the contest will be awarded a one-year subscription to unlimited Netflix DVD rental service with two DVDs at a time (along with seeing his or her entry emblazoned on the side of the new eatery in neon lights…or something similar but equally cool). Additionally, a permanent plaque will be installed in the building for future generations to view. Second place will receive a one-year subscription to Netflix, as well, but with only one DVD at a time. And finally, third- and fourth-place will be sent home with a six-month subscription to Netflix, one DVD at a time. Stay tuned for the crowning of the "Eatery Madness" champion! - end - Founded in 1819, Centre College is ranked among the U.S. News top 50 national liberal arts colleges.
