RELEASED: August 7, 2008

DANVILLE, KYOnce again, Centre has been named an outstanding undergraduate educational opportunity by The Princeton Review in the 2009 edition of Best 368 Colleges. The book includes two-page profiles of each school and student survey-based ranking lists of top-20 colleges in more than 50 categories.

The Princeton Review describes Centre as "just perfect. The small school environment lends itself so well to the liberal arts education platform." The profile also quotes extensively from surveyed Centre students. Among students' candid comments on the College: "Where else would the president have you over for a BBQ, teach a class, and perform in a concert? Only at Centre."

Schools were chosen for inclusion in Best 368 Colleges primarily for their outstanding academic programs. They were evaluated based on institutional data collected, feedback from current students and visits to schools over the years. The guide also considers the opinions of independent college counselors, students and parents. Finally, the guide works to include a wide representation of colleges by region, size, selectivity and character.

Among the "lists" rankings, Centre is No. 10 on "Professors Get High Marks" and No. 19 on "Most Accessible Professors." The ranking lists in Best 368 Colleges are based on The Princeton Review's survey of 120,000 students (about 325 per campus on average) attending the 368 colleges in the book. A college's appearance on these lists is attributable to a high consensus among its surveyed students about the subject.

In addition, Centre has both the highest academic and admission ratings among all Kentucky schools selected by The Princeton Review.

Centre also is a U.S. News and World Report top-50 liberal arts school--the only national top-50 institution in Kentucky. Also, Centre was named the No. 1 liberal arts educational value in the nation by Consumers Digest.
