Centre featured in Delta Sky magazine RELEASED: June 5, 2008 The magazine's "Snapshots" section includes an article on Stephen Rolfe Powell, H.W. Stodghill Jr. and Adele H. Stodghill Professor of Art. Beyond the campus, Powell is an internationally known glass-blowing artist whose elaborately colored glass vessels are held in permanent collections throughout the world. He has been featured on CBS-TV's Sunday Morning and Kentucky Educational Television and in print media including American Style, Glass, Ceramics Monthly, and Kentucky Monthly, which named him one of Kentucky's top 20 artists of the 20th century. The article also recognizes Centre's high percentage of students who study abroad (85 percent) and also the College's Norton Center for the Arts, an internationally acclaimed performing arts center. The magazine's "Snapshots" section includes an article on the local favorite Burke's Bakery Delicatessen on Main Street, where for 50 years Centre students and community members have flocked for baked goods and specialty items.
