Women's soccer falls to Denison in first round of NCAA Tournament

DANVILLE, KY
The Centre College women's soccer team lost 1-0 to Denison University in the first round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 15, in Westerville, Ohio. The Colonels finished the year with a record of 12-6-1 and were second in the SCAC with a 7-2 conference record.

After sweeping Trinity University and Southwestern University Nov. 8 and 9 to improve to 12-5-1 overall, the team was selected to the field of 61 in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament.

The Colonels finished second overall in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) with a 7-2 overall record, finishing one match ahead of both Southwestern and Trinity in the final conference standings.

Centre has had four players earn SCAC Player of the Week honors in 2008. Senior Kate Anderson (Louisville) and Senior Nicole Wendschlag (Lexington, Ky.) earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, while Menard, Terry each earned Offensive Player of the Week honors this season.
