Campus Center moving closer to completion

DANVILLE, KY—Work progresses on the College's new Campus Center, a 50,000 square foot, two-story facility that replaces Cowan Dining Commons.

Construction on the College Center began in June of 2008, and when work is completed in this fall the $15 million building will house the College's main dining facility, the Student Life Office, as well as designated space for student organizations, meetings, storage and an area for making campus signage. There will also be four meeting spaces of various sizes that will provide flexibility for meetings, meals and gathering.

• 1st and 2nd floor drywall installation and painting continue
• Porcelain tile is being installed in various areas on the 1st floor.
• Exterior window installation should be completed soon, and then window trim installation will begin.
• The ceiling grid on the 1st and 2nd floor is being installed.
• Refrigeration lines for the kitchen are being installed.
• Some of the 1st floor lighting is being installed.
• Steps are still being taken to establish LEED certification.
