Morris and Bachert will compete in NCAA Golf Championships
RELEASED: April 30, 2009 DANVILLE, KY—Sophomore Chris Morris (Maysville, Ky.) and first-year student Emily Bachert (Bowling Green, Ky.) have qualified as individuals to compete in 2009 NCAA Division III Golf Men's and Women's Golf Championships (respectively). The Championship will be hosted by Methodist University May 13-16 and take place at the Professional Golf Association (PGA) Village in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Morris was the number three pick based on his top South Region ranking of number one, his adjusted scoring average, and his number eight overall ranking in Division III. Prior to Morris, the last time a male golfer from Centre College qualified to the NCAA Championship was in 1990. Bachert was picked as the number one overall individual based on her number two national ranking of head-to-head in Division III. Bachert is the first female golfer to qualify for the NCAA Golf Championships since the inception of the women's program at Centre in 1992.
