My CENTRE Life journalists describe "summer of the big change"
RELEASED: September 24, 2009
In My CENTRE Life Season 5, six Centre College freshmen will chronicle their feelings, frustrations, successes, failures, and jam-packed lives as they negotiate their first year at the College. Their entries include photos, videos and frank reporting on the monumental transition from high school to college. In this episode, which features entries from this past summer, 2009 B.C. (Before Centre),... Josh is feeling bittersweet as he realizes that his life is about to change forever. Katie gets surprised reactions from her friends when she reveals her decision to do a "reverse Route 66"—that is, make the journey from the west coast to Kentucky and Centre College. Koen provides a sketch of life in the Netherlands—which allows some things the U.S. doesn't and restricts some things the U.S. permits—and reveals his plan to eat large quantities of Dutch liquorice. Natalie reports that she's planning a quiet summer, except for trips to Panama, Paris, and the Swiss Alps. Victoria declares her goal for the summer: do as much of everything as possible. She also explores some concerns about public bathrooms. Will demonstrates great flexibility in his choice of breakfast nutrition and describes his work as a "building-care specialist."
