Page Title
The page title is the text that appears in the title bar at the top of the browser screen. It should accurately describe the contents of the page, and where practical, it should be prefaced with "Centre College:" so that when the page is turned up in the results form Web search engines (e.g, Lycos, Excite) the user knows it is a Centre College Web page.

Page Header/Navigational Bar
The page header at the very top of the page consists of the Centre College logotype button at the left and the navigational buttons at the right. These images are listed below and can be downloaded to your harddrive. The Centre College logotype button should link back to the Centre College home page. The URL address should be http://www.centre.edu.


Background Color
The background color is #F5F5DC. Use the following BODY tag for the background color: <BODY bgcolor="##f5f5dc">.

Headline (headline class in the CSS floating panel)
This is the text at the top of your page (in this case, "Official Centre College Web Pages"). The font used for the headline is Arial Bold, size 5. The color is black (#000000).

Subhead (subhead class in the CSS floating panel)
This style can be used for section titles, etc. within the body of the page (in this case, "Page Elements"). The font is Arial bold, size 4. The color is rust ( #993333)

Body Text (text class in the CSS floating panel)
The font used for the body text is Arial, size 3. The color is black (#000000).


Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)

Dreamweaver also offers Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). CSS control the appearance of text in the document when viewed in a browser. CSS are used throughout the Centre College Web site to give all Web pages a consistent look. To use CSS, go to "Window" in the drop down menu at the top of the Dreamweaver page and click on "CSS Styles." You will now have access to the text styles above using the CSS floating panel.
