Centre College Debate News

Fact Sheet #5: Alumni viewing parties

Centre College alumni have expressed strong interest in the vice presidential debate, and the college Alumni Office has responded by planning a series of debate viewing parties in cities throughout the United States. Jennifer Hummel, associate director of alumni affairs, has worked with alumni leaders to select cities for viewing parties.

In each city, one or more alumni will serve as hosts and will assist the Alumni Office in securing a location with a big-screen television. The venues are likely to include restaurants, private homes, and office complexes.

The viewing parties will even go global due to Centre's residential overseas programs in England, France, and Mexico. Director of international programs Milton Reigelman plans for students at each site to view the debate as a group.
