Straight off the branch

Sophomore Daniel Powell takes a bite from a Japanese sweet persimmon. Powell and other Centre students are studying abroad in Japan this semester. Fellow sophomore Anna Cable, who is also studying in Japan, says the persimmon doesn’t look appetizing on the inside, but when you bite into the fruit it is “really good.” Centre’s exchange program with Yamaguchi Prefectural University is becoming increasingly popular; this term seven students are studying in Japan and two Japanese students are studying at Centre.
