Photo | Video of the Week

Welcome to the Photo | Video of the Week. Each week, the Communications Office chooses a photo or video that exemplifies some aspect of life at Centre.

Photo submissions. To submit a photo for consideration on this page e-mail Adam Brown at adam.brown@centre.edu with "POW" as the subject, or send a photograph through campus mail to his attention. Be sure to identify the people, location, and event. Any photos relating to the Centre experience, whether taken on campus or off campus may be submitted. And remember, the more dynamic and original the shot, the better. If you're sending a digital photo, be sure to send the picture at the highest resolution possible.

Video submissions. To submit a video for consideration on this page send a CD with your video in Quicktime format to Adam Brown through campus mail. The video must be between 30 and 60 seconds at the highest resolution possible, and can either be raw footage or edited. Remember, the more dynamic and interesting the clip, the better. Toledo at night
Joshua Wood '08 beautifully captured the city of Toledo during a CentreTerm trip to Spain in January. The course focused on the fusion of cultures in Medieval Spain. In the 11th and 12th centuries, Toledo was an intellectual center where Jewish, Moorish and Christian scholars wrote and collaborated in relative harmony. While in Toledo, the class visited the School of Translators at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, a school that began in the Middle Ages and continues today, focusing on translating into Spanish modern literary works written in Arabic.

On their way out of Toledo, the bus driver took the students on a steep, curvy road where they could get a panoramic vista of the city, just as the sun went down.
