2014 Alumni College offers one-of-a-kind opportunity for alumni to reconnect with Centre

With one of the nation’s highest rankings for alumni giving, Centre College is well known for its loyal graduates, a fact exemplified by the 2014 Alumni College. Thirty-four alumni representing a half century of class years—1954 to 2003— returned to their alma mater this past weekend to “take the class they have always wanted” and see the changes that have occurred on campus over the last few years.

They took classes spanning topics from Gulliver’s Travels to American individualism from six beloved current and retired faculty members; enjoyed a glassblowing demonstration and studio tour by Stodghill Professor of Art Stephen Rolfe Powell (pictured above, far right); saw Pioneer Playhouse’s production of “The Wonder Team”; and visited Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. The weekend concluded with a “graduation” ceremony at A. Eugene Brockman Commons and alumni left with even more fond memories of “Centre Dear.”
