BIOGRAPHY

Matthew Wentz joined Centre College in December 2022. He is the primary athletic trainer for baseball, and men’s and women’s tennis along with being an assistant with football.

Matthew was born and raised in Pennsylvania and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 2020. Upon graduation, he attended Valdosta State University where he earned a masters's degree in higher education leadership in 2022. While at Valdosta State University, Matthew served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with VSU baseball. He spent the 2022 minor league baseball season as the seasonal athletic trainer with the Norfolk Tides, the triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles in Norfolk, Virginia.

Matthew is an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and video games with his friends.
