BIOGRAPHY 

Stephanie Dew is a professor of biology and biochemistry & molecular biology at Centre College, where she has taught since 1994. Dew was named a Centre Scholar in 2009 and has served as chair of the biology program, the biochemistry & molecular biology program, and the division of math and sciences. Her teaching assignments are concentrated in biochemistry and molecular biology, including courses in macromolecules, cellular metabolism, and immunology.   

At Centre, Dew seeks to involve her students in her research on vitamin A metabolism in invertebrates.  Her student has presented their research at the annual meetings of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Kentucky Academy of Sciences, with several students winning prizes for their work.   

She earned a B.A. at Centre, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, and completed a PhD at Vanderbilt University.
