Welcome to Centre College! Your next few days will be full of programming to help you acclimate to life on campus.

Below is a complete schedule of activities, all of which have proven through the years to be helpful to new students. Beneath each day's schedule are descriptions of what each event entails. So, relax, enjoy and get started on your future. We're glad you're here!

Schedule Details

Check-in and Move-in 
When you first arrive to campus, you will check in at the Roush Campus Center on the Second Floor (Ewen Meeting Room). After you check in and receive your room key, you will go to your room to unpack.

Lunch
Lunch is free of charge and available in Cowan Dining Commons from 11:00am-1:00pm. Family members may pick up their meal tickets at Roush Campus Center, Ewen Room between 8:00am - 12:00pm on Thursday, August 29th. 

Academic Advising Appointment
Students will receive an assigned time to meet with their academic advisor. 

Presidents Welcome
Join President Moreland and Barbara LoMonaco, Vice President for Student Life as we kick off orientation.

Family Goodbyes
Spend some time with your family and say goodbye as you begin your Centre journey.

Families will stay in the Newlin Auditorium to hear from several staff members and how their offices can assist families as they support and encourage their Centre student.

(Students Meet the Centre College Support Team)
New students will meet with their First Year Mentor outside of the Norton Center and join their FYC Instructor and First Year Mentor. First Year Mentors will guide new students through all of orientation and can answer any questions.

Community Expectations - Weisiger Theater
What does it mean to be a member of the Centre College community? this informative meeting with Dean Kendrick Durham will help all new students understand the expectations and dynamics of Centre College. 

Personal, Campus and Fire Safety - Newlin Hall, Norton Center for the Arts
College is an adventure. If something unexpected happens along the way, it's important to know how to help yourself or others. The Centre College Department of Public Safety (DPS) can show you how to be prepared for those unexpected moments. 

Choir Rehearsal (optional) - Grant Hall, Room 114
This is an optional rehearsal for anyone interested in participating in a choir created specifically for the opening convocation ceremony, consisting of students, staff, faculty, and community members. All are welcome, regardless of musical background/experience.

Open Houses
Offices from around campus will be available during this time.

Technology Drop-in - Young 201 
ITS will be ready to answer all of your questions related to using Moodle and technology in your classes. 

President's Picnic - Craik House
Join President Moreland at the President's house for a picnic. 

Hypnotist Show - Newlin Hall, Norton Center for the Arts
Come watch the funny, smart, fascinating, comedy hypnosis show! Nadeen Manuel will be on campus for a performance at the Norton Center!

Delve into Danville introduces you to all that downtown Danville has to offer. You will tour small businesses, non-profit organizations, and the local Farmer's Market. Come connect with the community you will call home for the next four years.

Sexual Misconduct and Active Bystander Training - Weisiger Theater
First, you will hear from the Title IX office about the important resource available to all students at Centre. Then you will from Health Promotion to hear how you can make Centre a safe community for everyone. 

Diversity and Inclusion at Centre College - Newlin Hall, Norton Center for the Arts
Join the Office of Diversity and Inclusion to discuss how Centre is building a more inclusive community for everyone. 

Real Talk - Newlin Hall, Norton Center for the Arts
A panel hosted by Centre student leaders. They will discuss Centre Culture, tips for navigating your academics, finding a healthy you, and ways to develop your sense of belonging to Centre. 

Health and Wellness on Campus - Weisiger Theatre
Your mental and physical health play a large role in your success on campus. Join Centre Counseling to hear about how you can take care of your well-being while at Centre College. They will share resources that are available and some tips you can utilize while on campus in your everyday life. 

Dinner
Join your Orientation group for dinner in Cowan.

Viva DanVegas!Roush Campus Center
Join Campus Activities Council for Casino Night here in DanVegas! We will have slots, blackjack, poker, bingo and more!
