Centre students have a remarkable record of winning the most prestigious postgraduate scholarships and fellowships, opportunities that have taken them all over the world.
GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

Fulbright Scholarships
One year of graduate study, independent study, or teaching English throughout the world. Centre has had 45 Fulbright Scholars since 1991 plus 13 Fulbright-recommended teaching assistantships sponsored through the French Ministry of Education. The most recent Fulbright Scholars are teaching English in Bulgaria (3) and Costa Rica (1).

National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program
Funding for the first three years of graduate study in natural sciences, social sciences, math, or engineering. Centre has had seven, including Ryan Hunt ’15 in 2016, currently at the University of Southern California working on solar energy.

SMART Scholarship
The Science, Mathematics And Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship for Service program, established by the Defense Department, offers full-tuition-plus for undergraduate and graduate education, summer research internships, mentoring, and employment after graduation. Ben Finch ’18 won in 2016.
UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS
Boren Scholarship
Up to $20,000 for study abroad; for undergraduate and graduate students interested in less common foreign languages; apply as a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior
Goldwater Scholarship
Undergraduate award for students in math, science, or engineering; apply as a sophomore or junior
Truman Scholarship
Undergraduate award for students planning careers in government or public service; apply as a junior
Udall Scholarship
Undergraduate award for students interested in the environment; apply as a sophomore or junior
FELLOWSHIPS
German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
Several post-graduate study and internship scholarships and fellowships available
Madison Graduate Fellowship
Two years of graduate study in the United States leading to a career in secondary school teaching of American history, government, or social studies; apply as a senior
Soros Fellowship
Funding for up to two years of graduate study; apply as a senior
Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship
$30,000 stipend to math or science majors toward completion of a master’s degree program at a Woodrow Wilson partner institution in Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, or New Jersey; apply as a senior, graduate, or post-graduate
