Have you got a little piece of Centre College history tucked away in your attic?

Centre College's Young Hall 1932

Maybe your freshman beanie, your father’s athletic jersey or your grandmother’s Commencement program? Now is the time to double-check!

To commemorate Centre’s upcoming bicentennial in 2019, the College is producing a documentary film and looking for materials that might help illustrate Centre’s 200-year story.

Of specific interest are photographs and film footage—particularly from before 1980 and the home video/digital era. Moving or still images that depict the campus, faculty, administrators, students or college-related events would be of great use to the documentary production, especially those from Centre’s early years.

For the sake of maintaining the quality and safety of these artifacts, when possible, you should retain the original items or images and send a copy to the College in its place.

Scanned photos should have a resolution of at least 300 DPI and can be sent via email. Motion picture footage can be transferred to DVD and mailed or shared through a file-hosting service, such as Dropbox. Include any relevant descriptions—such as names of those pictured, dates, and locations—to help identify the images, and also list how you would like to be recognized in the documentary credits.

Please send your copies or make inquiries to Michael Strysick via email to or by phone at 859.238.5710.
