COMMENCEMENT SCHEDULE

Saturday, May 18, 2019

3:30-5:00 p.m. Library Open House
Grace Doherty Library, Crounse Hall
Take a break, visit with friends and family, enjoy refreshments and show your
guests your favorite study spots.

5:00 p.m. Family Picnic & Alumni Shop
Campus Center Lawn and Tent
Reservations required. No charge for Seniors for the picnic.
Adults: $12; Children: $6 (ages 4-10; under age 3 are free).
Check out the Centre gift items offered by the Centre Alumni Association at the Alumni Shop next to the registration table in the Campus Center.

RAIN PLAN: In case of rain, the picnic will be held inside the Campus Center and under the tent on the Campus Centre lawn.

7:00 p.m. Honor Walk Ceremony and Senior Class Tribute
Old Centre Lawn
The Honor Walk will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. Following President Roush’s remarks, Seniors and individuals being honored will be directed to the back of Old Centre to line up, one row at a time. Other guests will remain seated in front of Old Centre for the ceremony.

RAIN PLAN: In case of rain, the Honor Walk will be held inside the Alumni Gym in Sutcliffe Hall.

9:30 p.m. Fireworks
Campus Center Lawn
Grab a chair from the lawn and enjoy the fireworks! Please assist our staff by returning chairs to their original locations afterwards.

10:30 a.m. Baccalaureate Line up and doors open for general seating
Newlin Hall, Norton Center for the Arts
Seniors and faculty line up for Baccalaureate in front of Sutcliffe Hall. RAIN PLAN: Baccalaureate line up will be in the Hazelrigg Gym, Sutcliffe Hall.

11:00 a.m. Baccalaureate Service
Newlin Hall, Norton Center for the Arts
This is a worship service broadly reflective of the College’s Judeo-Christian heritage. Seniors process in their caps and gowns with the faculty. No tickets are required for admission, so the seating is first come, first serve. A few seats are reserved in advance for handicapped guests.

Noon-1:30 p.m. Luncheon and Alumni Shop
Campus Center
Reservations required. No charge for Seniors. Adults: $10; Children: $5 (ages 4-10; under age 3 are free). Seating is inside the Campus Center and under the large tent; buffet lines will be available inside and outside. Check out the Centre gift items offered by the Centre Alumni Association at the Alumni Shop next to the registration table in the Campus Center.

2:00 p.m. Commencement Line up
Seniors line up in front of Old Centre. Faculty line up in front of Crounse Hall. Staff line up in front of Young Hall. Doors open at the Norton Center and the Alumni Gym in Sutcliffe Hall. All seats are reserved. RAIN PLAN: Hazelrigg Gym, Sutcliffe.

3:00 p.m. Commencement
Newlin Hall, Norton Center for the Arts
All seats in Newlin Hall are reserved and a ticket is required for admission.

SIMULCAST: The Commencement ceremony will be simulcast in the Alumni Gym in Sutcliffe Hall for guests who do not have a ticket in Newlin Hall. Tickets are required for admission to the simulcast, but there are no reserved seats.

WEBCAST: Commencement and the Baccalaureate services will be offered on Centre’s website for friends and family who are unable to attend. The link will be posted here when available.

5:00 p.m. Graduates’ Reception
Norton Center Lawn
In honor of our newest alumni and your families, gather to celebrate your achievement. Faculty will be grouped on the lawn by academic major signs, so graduates and families may say farewell. Reminder: Graduates may keep the caps and gowns. RAIN PLAN: Hazelrigg Gym, Sutcliffe Hall. Signs for each academic major will be on the walls and faculty will gather near the signs.

5:00-6:30 p.m. Library Open House
Grace Doherty Library, Crounse Hall
One last chance to visit your favorite library before you and your family leave campus. Stop by to say goodbye.

8:00 p.m. Residence Halls close
