Is Centre your first choice? Apply Early Decision and enjoy exclusive benefits, from a $5,000 scholarship for applying early to an early admission decision and a senior year free of college worries.

Nearly 40% of Centre's incoming students enroll through Early Decision each year, reflecting the confidence many students have in making Centre their first choice. 

Why Apply Early Decision?

  • We want students to join our community! You are more likely to gain admission in Early Decision compared to Early Action or Regular Decision.
  • See above! You’ll receive an additional annual $5,000 Front and Centre Scholarship on top of any merit scholarship you receive.
  • We deliver early. You’ll receive an admission decision within one month of the Early Decision deadline.
  • You’ll be among the first to register for your First Year Seminar, giving you the widest selection of engaging courses, such as The Idea of the Super Human, Politics and the Media in Modern American History, and Mice, Mermaids, and Magic: Anthropology of Disney. With your college decision behind you, you can focus on making the most of your senior year instead of juggling essays, scholarship applications, and deadlines.

What is Early Decision?

Early Decision I and Early Decision II are binding application plans available at Centre College through which students apply and receive an admission decision early (see application deadlines here), and, if admitted, commit to attend Centre by withdrawing applications to all other schools.

Ideal if you're confident Centre is your first-choice college and are ready to make your college decision early.

Early Decision II

A great option if Centre is your first choice, but you'd like additional time to visit campus, strengthen your application, or finalize your college list.

Centre gives equal consideration to applicants in both Early Decision plans.

Complete an Early Assessment

Considering Early Decision at Centre? Submit an Early Admission Assessment to connect with our admission team, receive an early evaluation of your admission status and estimated merit scholarship, and gain confidence before submitting your application.

Complete an Early Financial Aid Assessment to receive your estimated financial aid offer. Not only does the College meet 100% of your demonstrated financial need, Centre offers a generous merit scholarship program with awards ranging from $20,000 to $40,000 per year. In addition, Centre offers the Lincoln and Grissom scholarships, which cover the cost of tuition, housing, food, and a stipend for covered expenses. Please note that only US citizens and permanent residents are eligible for need-based financial aid.
