Mason becomes winningest coach in Centre men’s basketball history with win 383

Three hundred eighty-three. That’s how many wins head coach Greg Mason ’94 has after Centre College’s 62-49 victory over Hendrix Sunday—more than any other coach in program history.

Mason, who has averaged just over 19 wins per season since taking over in 1999, passes his former coach and Centre Hall of Famer, Tom Bryant.

The milestone win came against a tough Warriors squad in Southern Athletic Association play, moving the Colonels to 19-3 overall and 10-1 in-conference. Mason’s Colonels again displayed ample depth and plucky defense while completing the regular season sweep over Hendrix (9-13, 5-6).

“I’m a bit overwhelmed to think of what just happened today. Success doesn’t happen alone. So many people who have been great and have sacrificed so much for me. My family—my parents who have supported us for over 20 years. My awesome wife and little girl. And so many of our players and supporters of Centre basketball. I would also like to thank Coach Bryant’s family, who have been so supportive over the years, especially this last couple of weeks. Thanks to all—it’s been a special journey. Here’s to more exciting wins ahead of us.”
