The fundamental mission of the Grace Doherty Library is to provide members of the academic community with access to resources and services that support the current and anticipated instructional, research, and service programs of Centre College. Further, in order to promote critical thinking and life-long learning, the Library will provide instruction on the effective use of Library resources and other information sources.

Director of the Grace Doherty Library at Centre College since 1981, managing library growth and automation. Articulate about the balancing act between traditional library holdings and the move toward electronic sources. Strong interest in trends in popular culture, including theater, film, and jazz.
Jennifer joined Centre College in 2018 as Reference/Electronics Resources Librarian and DIV III Liaison. Formerly, she had been with The Council of State Governments in Lexington, where she served as the Associate Director of Policy and Special Libraries. In this role, she developed and coordinated the CSG Knowledge Center, an online library that provided state policymakers and other users access to a wide range of public policy research.
Jennifer holds a bachelor’s degree in politics and Spanish from Washington and Lee University, a master’s degree in information sciences from the University of Tennessee, and a master’s degree in legislative affairs from George Washington University. A native of New Jersey, Jennifer has lived in Lexington for over ten years and looks forward to being a part of the Centre College community.
