Red Cross work strikes chord of passion in Cartmell ’12

While in high school, she worked with the local Red Cross in Maysville, Ky. This past summer, she worked in volunteer management with the domestic Red Cross at the American Red Cross headquarters in Washington, D.C. So, it would stand to reason, Ellen Cartmell would follow with a stint at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland.
Cartmell, a 2012 alumna of Centre College, is taking time off from graduate school to participate in an internship with the humanitarian organization for which she holds a great deal of passion.
