Centre College senior Brittany Garr of Louisville, Ky., has been named to the 2010 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Performance Subaru Women’s NCAA Division III All-American Third Team.
“I’m extremely proud of what Brittany accomplished at Centre. Receiving the All-American honor is very exciting for Brittany and our entire program,” says head coach Jay Hoffman.
Garr was named to the 2010 All-SCAC First Team and to the 2010 NSCAA/Performance Subaru NCAA Division III Women’s All-Great Lakes Region First Team earlier this year. She finished the season tied for third in the conference in points (30), fourth in goals (12), fifth in points per game (1.58) and goals per game (0.63), and tied for seventh in assists (6).
“Her effort both on and off the field has mirrored the ideal player that we’re seeking here at Centre,” Hoffman says. “She’ll certainly be talked about for many years to come as she’s been such an important figure to our offensive attack.”
“We hope Brittany’s honor will help motivate future players that wear the Centre uniform to train and go after their dreams,” he continues. “She was certainly honored for her hard work and dedication to the Centre program.”
