Student production “I Have Something To Say” to run through Family Weekend, Sept. 19-22

Centre College’s Dramatic Arts Program will host its annual Family Weekend production in Weisiger Theatre. This year, students will present “I Have Something To Say,” on Sept. 19-21 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 22 at 5 p.m.

“I Have Something To Say” is a production comprised of 10, 10-minute plays written and performed by Centre students.

These pieces have been developed under the guidance and direction of the College’s Humana Visiting Scholar and artist-in-residence Padraic Lillis, the artistic director of The Farm Theater.

Five weeks ago, 10 students arrived on campus with ideas about stories or topics or themes they’d like to explore. Since then, they have each written and crafted pieces from their own unique perspectives. Some are stories from their own lives, some are explorations of larger social or political ideas, some of them are hilarious, some are genuinely touching, and all of them are unique, authentic, personal stories and we are proud to bring them to our community for Family Weekend.

The writers and performers include Brennen Amonett ’19, Sullivan Blackburn ’20, Benjamin Collado ’21, Robin Haddix ’20, Jon Jones ’19, Katherine Moeykens ’19, Kat Popp ’19, Diana Smith ’20, Rachel Woellner ’20 and Zoe Zink ’19.
