At Centre College, we strive to recruit and retain exceptionally qualified faculty and staff by creating an atmosphere of inclusiveness and encouraging academic curiosity and innovation.

We endeavor to create an environment where differences are celebrated rather than discouraged, where the individuals have the opportunity to exchange ideas and share in the richness of mutual experiences.

Centre’s academic affairs offices works in tandem with its diversity office to create multiple recruitment strategies toward the goal of achieving greater diversity among its faculty and staff, partnering with every department undertaking a candidate search in order to assure that the most active and aggressive measures are taken to identify and create a diverse and exceptional applicant pool. In addition, the College is a member of the Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC), providing expanded tools to identify and recruit outstanding applicants and provide resources to assist dual-career couples.

#5 UNDERGRADUATE TEACHING

U.S. News & World Report

“Almost all of us have had the experience of being in a classroom with a teacher who simply inspires us to learn, know and explore. When this happens, the feeling is magical. Going to this class and being in the presence of that teacher brings out the very best in us.”
