An Eastern Kentucky native, Jerry is a lifelong journalist, reporting on news, politics, education, and sports at several Kentucky newspapers. He served as editor of The Appalachian-News Express and managing editor of the Georgetown News-Graphic. His work earned awards for writing, photography, and page design. In New England, Jerry served as the features and arts editor for the New Bedford Standard-Times, earning the “Best of Gatehouse” award for best lifestyle section. Most recently he has been a member of Gannett’s national Digital Optimization Team, focusing on search engine optimization, user experience, and reader engagement strategies.
