Japanese
Students are given an introduction to the Japanese language with an emphasis on speaking and reading.
Overview
Centre participates in an exchange program with Yamaguchi Prefectural University, which allows students to become fully immersed in Japanese language and culture. The fall term program is open to all Centre students, though preference for this program is given to students who will have studied Japanese. The exchange may be of particular interest to students interested in anthropology/sociology, Asian studies, economics, history, international relations, philosophy, or politics.
Curriculum
The focus is on developing basic conversational skills, learning the syllabaries and basic ideographs necessary to read, and learning correct grammar.
