Newlin Hall

This evening of storytelling connects food and cooking to history, community, and culture. Three acclaimed authors and change agents take the stage in one evening, including Dasha Kelly Hamilton, Wisconsin Poet Laureate; Crystal Wilkinson, Kentucky's current Poet Laureate; and Frank X. Walker, Danville native and past Kentucky Poet Laureate. Part history lesson, part social science revelation, the program explores race, culture and class through storytelling and cake. The program concludes with a community conversation and cake reception for the entire audience.

Open to the public.

Note: This convocation will consider topics of racism and class disparity, which may be distressing for some. This advisory is provided to foster an informed discussion and is not intended to discourage attendance.
