REGENSBURG, Germany

Study Abroad In Germany

Study and live among German students at the University of Regensburg in this language immersion program.

This program is being suspended after the spring 2023 semester. A new Germany program along with details is to be announced.

Centre’s German-immersion program is run by the Kentucky Institute for International Studies and held at the University of Regensburg. The program lasts nearly five months and is fully integrated into the University of Regensburg’s academic and social life. Regensburg, a Bavarian city on the Danube River in southeast Germany, is known for its well-preserved medieval core.

Program Highlights

Students arrive on campus a month before regular classes begin in order to immerse themselves, on a quiet and relatively unpopulated campus, in one of several intensive four-week language courses. The appropriate course for each student will be determined through a placement test administered in the first days of the program. Thus, students begin their stay by focusing on language acquisition at an appropriate level in a comfortable setting and with close contacts to university instructors and other international students. This intensive language course also helps students advance their language skills rapidly, with the result that they should feel quite at home in Regensburg and in Germany in a short time.

Courses And Cost

Courses are fully integrated and provided by the University of Regensburg.

Estimated cost: the same as studying in Danville, plus a $375 deposit (surcharge/emergency fund/carbon offset), and a $25 travel medicine fee for a total of $400. Flights to the abroad site are also the responsibility of the student.
