Newlin Hall

An Artist Talk with Mark Cela

Illustrator and graphic designer Mark Cela will share his art-making process while examining potential career paths which make use of an undergraduate degree in studio arts. Cela will take us behind the scenes of a career in the graphic design field while sharing work he created for licensed brands such as Twentieth Century Fox's The Simpson's and Futurama, Warner Bros.' Looney Tunes, and Converse. From there, Cela will demonstrate the process he uses to make digital illustrations and talk about characters he is currently designing for the Table Transers Inc. board game Dungeon Siege. Finally, Mark will discuss formal research methods in User Experience (UX) Design and explain how these methods are used to find solutions to systemic problems.

Mark Cela is an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at the Indiana State University where he leads the Graphic Design Program.

This event is open to the public.
