Numerous, seemingly obscure Christian theological concepts are significantly shaping how many Americans view the Israel/Hamas War. Particularly, Christian soteriological and eschatological views are influencing perspectives. Rev. Erica Whitaker will present and engage in dialogue to help participants explore the connections between biblical interpretation, these theological concepts, and perspectives on the war. Rev. Whitaker is the Associate Director for the Institute of Black Church Studies at the Baptist Seminary of Kentucky. She has been serving Baptist congregations for over fifteen years. She recently served as Senior Pastor to Buechel Park Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. A Texas native, Whitaker holds an undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas and a Master of Divinity degree from Baylor University’s George W. Truett Seminary. She is writing a dissertation for a Doctor of Philosophy degree at International Baptist Theological Study Centre in Amsterdam.
This event is open to the public.
