With a passion for the intersection of religion and sexuality, and feminist and liberationist understandings, Centre College alumna Angela Howard-McParland ‘03 brings a unique and powerful perspective to the professional world of social justice. Through an inter-faith approach, Angela is known for her advocacy at both local and federal levels, speaking out against discrimination of marginalized groups, and challenging faith communities and their beliefs on gender and sexuality, while serving as a voice for the most vulnerable. She also helped build a coalition, Nuns Against Gun Violence, that has steadily grown to encompass all 50 states and over 30,000 sisters and allies, and is known for her work with the Poor People’s Campaign.
