Centre Athletics announces Hall of Fame class of 2021

Centre Athletics is pleased to announce six new members to the Hall of Fame. Below are the inductees of the Centre Athletics Hall of Fame 2021 and their career accomplishments.

Kevin Chapman (2000): Four-year letterman in track and field; Conference champion 100 meters (1998, 1999, 2000); conference champion 200 meters (1998, 1999, 2000); conference champion 4×100 meter relay, anchor leg (2000); conference champion 4×400 meter relay, anchor leg (2000); undefeated in conference in 100 and 200 meter (1998, 1999,2000); conference runner up 100 and 200 meter (1997); first team All-Conference (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000); broke multiple school records, 100 meters (twice), 4×100 relay (twice), 4×400 relay, 4×800 relay; named All-Anniversary Team 200 meters for SCAC 15thanniversary (2006); provisional qualifier for national in the 200 meters (1999); third fastest time in conference history in the 200m (21.75); fourth fastest 1600 meter relay time in conference history; Football: Three year letterman in football; First-Team All-Conference running back (1999).

Mark Green (1989): Four year letterman football; CAC All Conference Honorable Mention (1987, 1988); holds Centre and NCAA record for longest reception of 99 yards (1988); Four year letterman track and field; Co Captain (1988); Captain (1989); CAC Athlete of the Year (1986, 1987, 1989); Centre Team MVP (1987, 1988, 1989); CAC 100 meter sprint champion (1986, 1987, 1988, 1989); Briscoe Inman Award Winner.

Amanda McCracken (2000): Three years lettered track & field; four years lettered cross country;2000 Kentucky NCAA Woman of the Year awarded to one collegiate female in each state for athletic and academic excellence as well as community service and leadership; NCAA All-Academic team (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000); Most Improved Cross Country Runner (1997); Most Valuable Cross Country Runner (1999); Captain of cross country team (1999); Most Improved Track Runner (1999); All Conference and All Regional teams in cross country; All Conference 800 meter in track; Broke the record in 3000meter event (10:51:00, 2000); Broke record for 1600 meter relay and distance relay (1997); For two years helped Kitty Baird organize the Women in Sports Day event ; President of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (1999-2000); Awarded 2000 Centre College Most Outstanding Senior Athlete with the Highest GPA; Received Briscoe Inman Memorial Award (2000).

Erin Menard Spalding (2009): Lettered four years in soccer; NSCAA Second Team All-American (2008); NSCAA Scholar All-American (2008); NSCAA NCAA Women’s D-III All-Great Lakes Region First-Team (2008); All SCAC First-Team (2005); Led SCAC in shots and goals (2005); 24 goals in 2005 the second most in a season in program history; Finished career with 59 goals and 12 assists; First NSCAA (now United Soccer Coaches) All-American in program history.

Eileen Schilling (2007): Cross Country/Track & Field. Cross Country All-American (2003, 2004); First All-American in Centre cross country history; 2003 All-America performance named 17th greatest cross country moment by SCAC; Cross Country All-SCAC 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006; Cross Country SCAC All 15-year team (only active runner selected to team); Track All-SCAC 10K (2004-07); Track All SCAC 5K (2004-05); Still holds the SCAC 5K record.

Jim Seabury (1987): Lettered four years in tennis; Member of the 1987 CAC Conference Championship tennis team; All-CAC Conference (1985, 1986, 1987); Won the CAC Conference Championship at #1 Doubles (1985, 1986, 1987); Finalist in #2 Doubles (1984); Finalist in #4 Singles (1984), #2 Singles (1985, 1986); Conference Champion in #6 Singles (1987); Selected to participate in the NCAA Division III Intercollegiate Tournament in both singles and doubles (1987); The only Centre men’s tennis player to win matches in both singles and doubles at the NCAA Division III Tournament; Holds Centre record for second most doubles wins in a season (17, 1986); holds Centre records for second most singles wins in a career (50); Holds Centre record for second most doubles wins in a career (45); ties Centre record for most team match wins in a career (50).
