Staff Congress
A representative body for non-faculty staff at Centre College, designed to ensure staff voices are heard in campus governance and decision-making.
Staff Congress serves as the representative voice of Centre College’s non-faculty employees, providing a formal channel for communication among peers, faculty, students, and administrators. Reporting to the Centre College President, it gathers and expresses staff perspectives, ideas, and recommendations on matters affecting campus work life and operations. Its elected representatives serve on standing committees, discuss issues raised by fellow staff members, seek constructive resolutions, make appropriate referrals, and actively support a strong, inclusive community.
Its primary purposes include:
- Eliciting and Expressing Staff Input: Gathering opinions, suggestions, and recommendations from staff on all matters of concern.
- Providing a Voice in Campus Affairs: Acting as an advocate for staff interests in college-wide discussions and initiatives.
- Representation on Standing Committees: Ensuring staff have formal representation on Centre College’s standing committees.
- Addressing Issues and Seeking Solutions: Discussing ideas and concerns raised by staff, working toward resolution, and making appropriate referrals when necessary.
- Promoting Community Building: Supporting initiatives that foster collaboration, engagement, and a sense of community among staff and the broader college environment.
